Notice the residue left over from this fire at the chimney base. Imagine how much fills the inner walls of your chimney after a long winter of fires.
Why you need a Chimney Cleaning
Over time, the burning of wood creates deposits of a substance called creosote. These deposits disrupt the airflow of your chimney and are (extremely) flammable. This buildup can potentially cause dangerous chimney fires. A proper chimney cleaning is among the most urgent forms of maintenance you should have done in your home.
How we perform a Chimney Cleaning
When Gary’s certified professionals conduct a chimney cleaning, they first place a fireplace cover in your home. They then use special tools to perform a top-down chimney sweep. This enables them to brush the chimney clean of creosote, dust, ash, and other materials without getting large amounts of dirt into your home. We recommend having these chimney cleanings done about twice a year.
